Wedding Favorites

I now have most all of the guest's photos. This is a collaboration of everyone's and all my favorites. Some of these may be in previous blogs, but some you have never seen before. Thanks to all of our wonderful guests who shared this amazing life experience with us and shared their photos with us. They are all mixed up from everyone because I put them in some semblance of the order which they happened.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. It was a very special experience and such an honor to really feel like a Polynesian Vahine and Tane!!

I have my ship and all her flags were flying!

The Sacred Trident shell was blown to call us all together on the beach.

The Groom arrived by Va'a canoe.

The bride was escorted by all of the Vahines.

We were joined in the water on the beach (barefoot!)

All the photographers were snapping.

The musicians were playing and singing.

The ceremony begins in the church of Mother Nature.

Everyone was enjoying the scene.

Mom and Dad watched in awe.

The priest started the ceremony.

We listened with intent and commitment.

We looked at each other with Love and Adoration.

King Miguel

Queen Conchita

The ceremonial tools

The purifying with the sacred coconut water.

The gift of a Tahitan name. Mataihere Vahine and Mataihere Tane. Translates to Lover's wind woman and man.

Wrapped in our custom Tifaifai (wedding quilt) we take our first dance as the Mataihere husband and wife.

They removed our feather crowns and replaced them with flower ones.
Then the priest blessed us and our lives ahead of us.

Which of course made us quite happy!

This one is Miguel's favorite in black and white.

Mom and Dad got to sit behind us so they could hear the ceremony.

Then the dancing started. First the Vahines, looking so lovely.

These ornamental wood carvings were used by the Tane dancers.

The guys now dressed in their natural dancer costumes, surprised us all and swam up to the beach to perform.

The gal was dressed in her very fancy costume as the guys arrived.

They did the very tribal, and more Marquesan, Haka dance.

Oooooo, scary!

After, they got Miguel to get up and do the wedding dance for me. Quite seductive, I might add!!

Then we both danced together, surrounded by the Tahitian Vahines and Tanes.

I love this shot with Cook's Bay in the background!

Lots of group shots. Looks like everyone had a good time!

We both are a bit star struck, as we gaze at the beautiful people surrounding us.

Our custom made Tifaifai made by Miri, has the eyes of Buddha in the sun to match the eyes on the bow of Avatar, the island of Mo'orea, a traditional double hulled Polynesian sailing canoe, the Baja Peninsula and all the creatures in the sea. It is very special!!

The family photo with Kevin, Mike, Miguel, Conchita, Chip and Karen.

Tahani, Keanu, and Scott enjoying themselves.

Mom, Karen, looking so beautiful with all her flowers and pearls!!

Me making my vows to Miguel, slipping on the ring.

Miguel with his vows in hand, puts on the lovely black pearl wave ring.

Sealed with a kiss!!

This was the most incredible wedding cake ever, with carvings in the sails of the Polynesian voyaging canoe.

The taste was over the top, chocolate!!

The wedding party table.

Miguel having the time of his life! I don't know what Chuck or Linda said, but it must have been hilarious!

Our cruiser friends enjoy the party.

The second dance with Mom and Dad.

The after dance portrait.

Me singing “Southern Cross” by Crosby Stills and Nash to my Miguel.

The rings, the circle of love.
