Aboard
Coastal Drifter, we had a reunion party when Peregrine arrived in the
anchorage. The sun was setting when we started, with Mike, Michele
and Joe ready to party!
Joe
slobbers a big loving kiss to is bride Michele, as they are so happy
to be back with old friends.
Christian
and Birgit, of Pitufa, were telling a story that Phil was listening
intently to. Austin was smiling at his grandma as he tried to figure
out how to exit the companionway around Phil.
Grandma
Deb and I.
Us
again making funny faces after a few cocktails. I am sworn to
secrecy as to what else happened that night, so I can't tell you
here. But just know we all tied on a good one and it was a fun party!!
On
a different occasion, we had some friends over for breakfast (not the
morning after the party!!) Chef Miguel is working his magic in the
galley.
The
table is set for everything we will need.
Mike
has his antique waffle maker hard at work on the gas stove.
And
Voila, a beautiful waffle is ready to eat!
Our
friends arrived and we all decided it was too nice to eat below, so
we moved the party to the cockpit. Our friends had brought fruit,
whip cream and bloody marys!
Ellen
and Martin pose with their prepared waffles. See what happened was
that Mike had gone shopping with them and bought this huge Costco
bag of pancake/waffle mix and they all wanted to know why. So when
they found out that Mike had a waffle iron aboard, they all insisted
on sampling his work! Yummy!!
The
mocha mix has finally proved to us that we really are South of the
equator. The mix made a spiral all on its own in the glass, circling
clockwise!
On
several occasions we all meet up at Casa Bianca at Marina Taina for
happy hour. I believe it was Christian's birthday. Here we are
goofing around taking a selfie, but no body behind us was looking.
Martin, Steve, Lili and Austin.
Now
we got their attention! Hang loose dudes!
Two Dutch girls, Mariah and Ellen who happy to see each other again.
Deb
sits with her leg propped up and her knee brace on, no dancing for
her tonight! Joe and Birgit are enjoying the evening as well.
The
sun has dipped behind Mo'orea and it is dark. We all mix and mingle
having good conversations with someone other than who we share our
small boat spaces with. Martin, Birgit, Mike, Joe and Christian.
It
was the year of the Dutch boats, with like 5 in the anchorage. Ellen
chatting with Cindy and her husband Geert behind from the vessel
Zensation. I think the girls were comparing notes on where they
would sail and meet up next.
Michele
of Peregrine shows us why we come for happy hour, 2 for 1!!
Our
Aussie friends Liam and Annie from Sidney aboard a catamaran named
Gone With the Wind. Liam and Mike are both big Formula 1 race
freaks. We had met in the Marquesas back in 2017 and found each
other again in Tahiti.
The
beauty of cruising is making new friends in far off anchorages from
all over the world, then meeting up again, months or years later, to
enjoy another sunset with sun-downers (cocktails). As the sun once
again disappears behind Mo'orea.
