Wedding Preparation
The
morning of the wedding there was a lot of activity going on to get
ready. The Mo'orea Swing Boys made a circle and sang a prayer in
Tahitan to prepare their heads for the spiritual day ahead.
Over
in the Men's camp, Mike was dressed in his parieo and then had a
temporary tattoo drawn on his shoulder.
“
Wait,
what do I have to do?!?”
The
tattoo is a ceremony that many Polynesian Tane (men) go through to
show their commitment to their wives (vahine).
Next
is the fitting of the feathered crown.
Then
the groom is paddled by Va'a outrigger canoe to the ceremonial beach.
Meanwhile
over in the Vahine camp, the bride is getting her makeup done.
Mother
of the bride gets her fancy hair do as well.
Tehani
helps me with her daughter supervising.
Then
the girls come to explain what I will be doing and dress me in my
parieo.
And
we look lovely together!!
The
camera setting added some color to us.
The
priest is ready in position.
Mom
you look so good!! Love you!
The
gals give all the guests flower leis. Jaye and Corinne are ready!
Chuck
and Linda are ready too!
Mom
and Dad watch as the ceremony begins to take place.
And
Here comes the Bride!! Off to the wedding!
